New years food for us growing up was always pork and sauerkraut. This year we were at friends and had hoppin johns a dish made with blackeyed peas and served over rice which was their traditional food.
every new year
sauerkraut and pork

hoppin’ johns
traced to civil war

I'm sure the little mouse was delighted with the temple offerings!
