Mirror Rice Cakes (Kagamimochi)

Carpe Diem #643 mirror rice cakes

New years food for us growing up was always pork and sauerkraut.  This year we were at friends and had hoppin johns a dish made with blackeyed peas and served over rice which was their traditional food.

  5. Very nice!!!
"Hoppin John" is pretty popular not too far south of my home --- I much prefer it to pork and sauerkraut!! :)
