Cricket songs grace the night air
mingling with the rush of rain
and the leaky toilet.
Your snoring subsides
to uneven breathing
while I lay in the dark
eyes wide open
forgetting what it feels like
to sleep, to dream, to rest
or remember how.

Solitude
Solitude of night
Dark peppered with intrusive
Dripping of faucet

Looking Back
beneath uncut grass
abandon tricycle rusts
childhood long vanished
underneath the boughs
forgotten tree house decays
remnant of passage

A Few of My Haiku
frozen stream released
from winter's lingering spell
gushes mightily
from winter's lingering spell
gushes mightily
dragonflies take wing
over algae covered pond
dancing among cattails
over algae covered pond
dancing among cattails
trees encased in ice
shining silver in sunlight
reflecting rainbows
shining silver in sunlight
reflecting rainbows
in the garbage can
among yesterday's blossoms
among yesterday's blossoms
one green flower bud
new moon rising
silver tipped mist lingers
petals and tears fall
silver tipped mist lingers
petals and tears fall

Haiku
loud snores echo
mosquito whines in my ear
I curse you both
mosquito whines in my ear
I curse you both
