I give permission for mayhem in the garden weeds left unchecked for this slow spring rain to soak the parched ground prays on a hot june day the violet bed yawns with yellow dandelions awakened from sleep

one green shoot

shows itself

         curling up alone
in the imprint where you slept
       tears no longer flow

curling up alone
with a good book
no substitute

in the imprint where you slept
I still feel your warmth

on cold nights

tears no longer flow
memories keep me company
life moves forward

fallen soldiers

                                               old wounds heal

                                               balance restored

                                               all are washed clean

                                               redemption

                                              make peace with their gods
