I agree with Jen and Becca ... love the genuflecting carnations under the November rain. The second haiku stopped me up .. as I'd always associated cemeteries and death with Chrysanthemums - I was surprised to see that they are so commonly used for funerals now!
Ouch -- "death becomes you"!
ReplyDeleteVery moving images, with the November rain as well.
yeah, the second one wasn't so nice. Glad I didn't have anyone in mind.
DeleteActually the thought came from our host saying his wife didn't like carnations in a bouquet.
DeleteI like both of them -- but my favorite line pink blossoms genuflect
ReplyDeleteThanks!

DeleteBeautiful - the first haiku brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWow! genuflecting adds such reverence...love that last line too...just stunning!
ReplyDeleteYes genuflecting was so much better than ....bowed their heads in the mud. More uplifting
DeleteI don't think I've ever seen "genuflect" in a haiku before. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteVase of White Carnations
November rain will make even the most stalwart blossoms genuflect, I think.
ReplyDeleteNot Even One Carnation
That it may!
