I give permission
for mayhem in the garden
weeds left unchecked
for this slow spring rain to soak
the parched ground prays
on a hot june day
the violet bed
yawns with yellow dandelions
awakened from sleep
|
inspired Haiku
under decaying leaves
one green shoot
shows itself
Very nice! I especially like the mayhem of the weeds and the dandelions --- truly unappreciated characters in the garden :D
ReplyDeleteYes so many uninvited guest in my garden.
DeleteGreat Dolores ... a really nice Troiku, but your haiku inspired on Wright's is a diamond ... gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristjaan. The haiku was an afterthought. I almost didn't publish it. So glad you liked it.:0)
DeleteIt doesn't take much moisture to awaken the dandelions, does it?
ReplyDeleteSlow Spring Rain
Not at my house anyway!
Delete"Mayhem in the Garden" sounds like a biblical epic, doesn't it? ;)
ReplyDeleteWho Gave Permission?
Hadn't thought of it until you mentioned it. I like that idea.
DeleteAh.. those weeds.. those weeds
ReplyDeleteSome of them are quite pretty!
DeleteI may well adopt your opening haiku as a motto and hang it proudly in my garden, thanks! ;)
