Departed Soul

on her death bed
she hears him smiling
circle of life

waves wash over
stones ground to nothing
ebb and flow of life

arrayed in splendor
leaves fall and crumble
life fade

all our hopes crushed
ten fingers reach toward heaven
no fetal heartbeat

(for my child)

  4. Such an ache through this whole series -- hearing the smile was brilliant -- but the last one broke my heart.
